Conceptual illustration of a p-FET. The p-FET is integrated with an on-chip optical filter composed of a selectively transmissible material at a particular wavelength to evaluate a small quantity of Aβ peptides conjugated with FITC. The unwanted range of excitation light (λ_ex) is reflected, and only the fluorescent light emitted at a proper wavelength (λ_em) is transmitted through the filter and converted to the electrical signal. The inset shows the actual p-FET device.
