The schematic illustration of self-assembly of organosilanes on the ceramic oxide
surface. Hydrolysis of organosilanes on the oxide surfaces to create the corresponding hydroxylsilanes,
and then, these hydroxylsilanes absorb on the surface via hydrogen bond. Aggregation
and condensation of these hydrogen-bound species lead to a closely packed monolayers
on the oxide surface.
