Growth process of ZnO nanorods in the direction [001]. The growth process is facilitated by the tetrahedral structure of the species Zn[(OH)4]2- which fits well with the (001) surface polyhedra, this phenomenon (spatial resonance)
increases the growth in this direction more than in another faces.
